Poland in European and Global Research Infrastructures
On January 16–17, 2025, the conference “Poland in European and Global Research Infrastructures” was held at the Warsaw School of Economics. It was the first such large meeting of Polish representatives of research infrastructures included in the national and European research infrastructure map. The representatives of the institutions forming the Polish National Node of EHRI (EHRI-PL) participated in this event: Dr. Zofia Trębacz, The Emanuel Ringelblum Jewish Historical Institute in Warsaw; Dr. Agnieszka Haska, Polish Center for Holocaust Research Center of the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of the Polish Academy of Sciences; Dr. Adam Sitarek, The Philip Friedman Centre for Jewish Studies at the University of Lodz.

The first day of the conference was devoted to various research infrastructures. Dr. Trębacz presented the European Holocaust Research Infrastructure-European Research Infrastructure Consortium (EHRI-ERIC) with a special focus on the goals that are important for Poland, such as providing international access to Holocaust-related archives and sharing research data and findings by Polish scholars through EHRI’s online services. The second day of the conference was devoted to research infrastructures operating within the social sciences and humanities. Participants presented the most important areas of activity, the role of Polish teams and plans for development and cooperation between institutions. Dr. Sitarek told about the structure of EHRI-ERIC and the activities that will be carried out within the newly established EHRI-PL National Node. During the discussion, initiatives to integrate activities in common areas and ideas for cross-infrastructure grant projects emerged.
